I've lived on Block Island for eighteen years and been a serious photographer for ten.  I can't tell you how many times I've walked this beach and how many pictures I've taken.  But sometimes the light is so wonderful and so different from anything I've seen before that I simply can't believe it.  On this particular morning, the air was still and little bugs came out and were biting me all over, but I couldn't give up this light and these pictures.  I can't remember another time when it was buggy on this beach.  They only lasted for about half an hour.  As the sun came up and it got a little warmer, they went back into their hiding places.
